Application differences between insulating silicone rubber sheets and insulating rubber sheets
2024-09-09

Insulating silicone rubber sheets are mainly made of silicone and have excellent electrical insulation properties and high temperature resistance. Silicone materials can remain stable in a wide temperature range from -60°C to +250°C and are suitable for electrical insulation in extreme environments. The high temperature resistance of silicone rubber sheets makes them widely used in electronic equipment, medical devices, aerospace and high temperature industrial applications. In these areas, silicone rubber sheets not only provide excellent insulation protection, but also effectively prevent material degradation caused by high temperatures.

Relatively speaking, insulating rubber sheets are usually made of synthetic rubber (such as NBR or EPDM). These materials have good electrical insulation properties, but their high temperature resistance is worse than silicone. The main applications of insulating rubber sheets include insulation layers for building cables, protective pads for electrical equipment, and insulation protection for general industrial equipment. In these applications, insulating rubber sheets provide an economical solution, especially in scenarios where temperatures are not high and environmental conditions are not harsh.

In summary, insulating silicone rubber sheets are suitable for use in demanding high temperature and special environments due to their excellent high temperature performance and chemical stability. Insulating rubber sheets are suitable for more conventional electrical insulation and industrial applications due to their economy and good insulation effect. When selecting materials, specific work environment and performance requirements should be considered to ensure optimal application results.
